International Students

Honoring diverse perspectives

Concord Academy’s academic approach and student life program honor the diverse perspectives and lived experiences of international students, who make up more than 10% of the CA study body. For international students, residential life at CA offers the benefits of living in a safe, beautiful town near a major U.S. city, making friends from around the world, and receiving support from house faculty who know every student personally and understand what it’s like to live and study far from home.

International Applicants

At Concord Academy, you are considered an international applicant if your family’s primary residence is outside the United States and/or you attend school outside the United States. U.S. citizens employed overseas who also file U.S. personal income tax returns are not considered international applicants.

English Proficiency Testing

Students for whom English is not a first language should submit an official score report for the Test of English as a Foreign Language exam (TOEFL IBT or ITS), the International English Language Testing System (IELTS), or Duolingo.

If the applicant’s primary language is English or if the applicant has attended an English-speaking school within the United States for the past three years, please email [email protected] to request a waiver of this requirement.

Interviews

Due to a significant increase in international applications, Concord Academy has partnered with Vericant to better accommodate student requests for an admission interview. All international applicants, as defined by the criteria above, are required to interview with Vericant before they will be considered for an interview with CA.

Our Admissions Office will review the completed Vericant interviews and score reports to determine which students will be invited to interview with a member of the CA interview team. For other applicants, the Vericant interview will serve as the interview. Thank you for your patience as we review your Vericant interview. We will reach out directly regarding our response.

Please complete our online inquiry form so that we can contact you after we review your Vericant interview. Vericant interviews must be completed and submitted to CA by January 1 to be considered for an interview with the CA interview team.
