Chris joined the music faculty at Concord Academy in 2019, where he directs the jazz ensembles (Jazz Workshop, CA Jazz, and VJ&P). Active as both a composer/arranger and trombonist, Chris maintains a busy performance schedule throughout the Northeast specializing primarily in jazz and contemporary improvised music. With the jazz ensembles at CA, Chris strives to introduce a wide variety of musical repertoire from the past through to the present in a way that is relevant and exciting to musicians across campus. Chris is interested in any and all music that leaves space for creative improvisation and collective interpretation, as he says that is often where the most exiting moments can happen.
